Insomnia, part 8

Aug10
2007
Written by Aaron DeLay

Part of me blames the job which has become extra special stressful as of late along with plenty of lifey stress (money, friends, the regular blah blah) and just the general inability for me to get any sleep the resembles a good pattern of rest.

Part of my problem is my ongoing struggles with the bed I currently own (via free-ness from Renae which I owe her for big time!) and how one was never really intended to sleep in a trundle bed on a long term basis.  I spoke about it here in my last insomnia post and it hasn’t really improved.  I’ve added the foam and the comfort pad and a new pillow or two.  It’s still hard getting to sleep and getting that good full eight hour refreshing peaceful passing through the night.

Needless, it’s past midnight right now and I’m really tired.  Been tired since around 9pm.  I just can’t. Get.  To.  Sleep.  This is similar to the problem I had in Manila where my body was so tired but I couldn’t get comfortable or get my brain to lay down and breath for a second.  I had hoped the change of moving to sleeping at night would help along with the regular hours and being back in the USA would help…but apparently this whole insomnia thing is here to stay for a little while.

I’ve gone back and forth over turning to medication to get my sleep in but I fear it without hesitation.  I freely admit I fear drugs that make me sleep.  Terrifies me beyond words.

If this pattern keeps up I may have to face the music and pop the pills.

Wow, same problem here. I CAN NOT FALL ASLEEP and it is driving me crazy! Too much on my mind I guess.

By the way, I am now gainfully employed :-) Not sure why I’m happy about that, but I am.
