Watch This Film, part 1

review added to this post 01/17/2007:

Speak is a disturbing film for several reasons but none of them should prevent you from taking a chance and watching it. Speak is a story of a girl who is raped. Terrible enough for you? But the best part of this movie is the heart that it exudes throughout the entire movie. It takes you from start to finish in the world of this victim. Her inner monologue is both touching and hilariously sarcastic while also very heartbreaking. She struggles through so much in this movie I couldn’t even begin to detail it out here. Suffice to say the film ends with closure but the road to that closure is a adventure both for the character in the film and the viewer watching the pain on the screen. This film is denoted as a made for TV movie but it could have easily hit the theaters and done some serious damage in the Oscar world with little work. It’s that good. I stumbled upon this movie while browsing cable when I landed in Manila and the movie has stayed with me since.

Check out the Quotes from the movie here.
